Dr. Steven Norwitz is President of the New Jersey Society of Plastic Surgeons, an organization of over 120 board certified plastic surgeons in New Jersey. He is also the Director of the Monmouth Medical Center Cleft Palate Institute in Long Branch, New Jersey. Dr. Norwitz was selected to receive the Governor's "Humanitarian of the Year" Award for his work in treating indigent, deformed children in third world countries. He was presented with this prestigious award by Governor Christie Whitman.
Dr. Norwitz did his undergraduate training at Rutgers University and graduated with honors in 1963. He then attended Hahnermann Medical College and received his MD degree in 1967. He went on to do his straight surgery internship, his general surgery residency, and his plastic surgery residency at the world famous Kings County Medical Center in New York -- the oldest training program for plastic surgeons in the U.S.
Dr. Norwitz is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He was selected to be a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, an organization of only those Board Certified Plastic Surgeons who have demonstrated superlative skills and vast experience in performing cosmetic surgery of all types.
Dr. Norwitz is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has published and presented numerous papers nationally concerning the cosmetic procedures that he performs.
Dr. Norwitz has been in the private practice of plastic surgery for 30 years. He founded the Plastic Surgery Center in 1973. Dr. Norwitz conceived of and built our present "state-of-the-art" facility in 1985. This unique structure has been featured in the book Building By The Book (Rutgers University Press 1992) and is pictured on its cover.
Dr. Norwitz is well known nationally for his expertise in performing surgery to correct cosmetic "problems" of the face and torso. He also enjoys an excellent reputation for his accomplishments in treating many deformities requiring reconstructive surgery such as cleft lip and cleft palate, trauma, and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Norwitz's mission for the Plastic Surgery Center has always been "to provide natural cosmetic results in a safe and comfortable environment."

Dr. Michael Rose is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. He
received a B.A. degree with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry. He
graduated with the highest honors and several regional and national
commendations for his research.
Dr. Rose received his medical degree from The New York University School of Medicine. He performed research throughout his medical school years, and published several papers and book chapters during that time. He also presented at national and international meetings, and received a national award for his research.
Dr. Rose then completed a five year General Surgery residency at New York University Medical Center. He was selected as Executive Chief Resident, and won the award for best surgical educator for that year. During his residency he did a one year fellowship in the Plastic Surgery laboratories at New York University Medical Center. Again, he published widely, and presented at several national meetings.
Dr. Rose completed his training with a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While training in Atlanta, Dr. Rose worked with some of the top names in Plastic and reconstructive surgery. While at Emory, Dr. Rose published research on the safety of cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Rose enjoys all aspects of Plastic Surgery, especially breast surgery and facial plastic surgery. While in Atlanta, Dr Rose trained with some of the pioneers of eyelid and cheeklift surgery, and he brings those techniques to the Plastic Surgery Center. The most modern and safe techniques for facelifts, cheeklifts, eyetucks, and browlifts are utilized by Dr. Rose. He also specializes in breast augmentation, reduction and lifting, as well as body sculpting such as tummy tucks and liposuction.
Dr. Rose is Board Certified by The American Board of Surgery. In addition to his interest in Cosmetic Surgery, he takes great pride and satisfaction in performing reconstructive surgery after cancer surgery or deforming accidents.
